I tell of my day-to-day experiences in a funky Japanese town from my American viewpoint. This blog could also be called 'Bizarro World', 'Notes From Kyushu, a Smaller Island', or 'Teaching English in Japan: Smash Your Ego in 10 Easy Lessons."

Dedication

For the past two and a half years I've been writing about my thoughts and experiences here on the southern, sometimes backwards, sometimes forwards, but always upsidedown place they call Kyushu, Japan. It's a noteworthy place, but unfortunately, I don't know much about writing. And as far as expressing its excitement, I don't know the first thing about putting that into a programming language. Therefore, I'm grateful that people stop by and read and leave comments, especially my family. The feedback, interest, and support fuel my tank.

There's one person, though, who goes an extra mile here, and that's Blu. Really, your support has been unending. I show up, and you're here, with an open ear and an open mind. Your devotion moves me, and I wouldn't be surprised if others find it moving too.

It's funny, a lot of people have asked _me_ who you are, how I knew you. Imagine that.

With respect, I'd like to dedicate these first 232 entries to you, Blu. (Raising a glass) Here's to kindness, Kyushu, and Blu...!

Dear Jetblossom, I haven't many words to give you here except that I am so completely and utterly moved by what you just said on my behalf.

That is the most incredible thing anyone has ever really said to me. I mean really.

You have inspired me in more ways than you can possibly imagine and I can say that I actually think sometimes, a lot actually how nice it would be to find a place in time to share these moments and actually laugh over a fine glass of tea about the text we shared for so long.

You are so strong and so wise and you need not even worry about anything in your life because your soul satchel is full of all the tools and gear and guides that you will ever need.

You make me very happy.

Thank you Jettie for every letter....

It meant a lot to him to read this as is it does me as well...

Thank you for making him smile. He deserves it and so much more...

And its wonderful he has found a friend in you...

Take care..

I'm a regular reader of Blu (and fortunately he is a regular reader of my blog) and want to say that your dedication to him is quite moving. He has a good heart I think. I'll drop by more often as you must have a good heart too.

Keep On Bloggin'

To Blu, I'm so glad we can inspire each other. I suppose your courage gives me courage, your willingness to be honest gives me the willingness also. What moves me strongly is watching you boldly open yourself to your life again and again. And how kind and caring you are to everybody in whatever way they need your care. I'm glad I make you happy, because you also make me happy.

We're all happy! Rejoice!! ;-)

Chalice, good to have ya! It's been really cool reading how the two of you have come together. It's great to actually hear from you, as opposed to reading about you!!

And Sirdar, thanks, I hope that's true. BTW, was that really you in that bug suit? That was really goofy-lookin.

But about the dedication, well, I didn't know he was gonna post it. I was a little, you know, shy. But now I can see it was a good thing because it was good for other people to see too, because it seemed to have a positive effect.

Now I gotta go write another post!!

Jetblossom: No...it was not me in the suit. I have no idea who was...but I agree it was pretty goofy looking...in a funny kind of way :-)
